Desert Futbol Club Women & Desert FC

About Us

Desert Futbol Club is a 501(c)3 organization that raises money for the disadvantaged youth, who typically can't afford to pay the high cost of competitive girl's soccer.

Executive Director

Zach Holliday

Zach started Desert FC in 2020. The club was formed as a nonprofit, so that Desert FC can compete in the highest levels of soccer in California. Desert FC is affiliated with US CLUB SOCCER, US Soccer, FIFA, Lamar Hunt Open Cup, US Adult Soccer Association and Cal South.

Zach has been around Club Soccer since 2003. His daughter had played at the highest levels of Club soccer and traveled all over the country. We want to bring what Zach has learned over the years to the Desert. There is no need to travel outside of the valley to chase high level teams. As long as you are getting the training that is required to advance your child, weather it be professionally or collogiate asperations we believe that more training and less games is the proven way to get your end result. We believe in the European way of trainiing.

The club will not be joining any leagues. What we will be doing is competing in high level tournaments around Southern CA, Western Region, Nationally and International. We have partnered with Brian (Pollo) Benjume from Ballerz FC. Brian will be the Director of Coaching of the club.

Coaching Career

My name is Brian Benjume, and I am lifelong resident of the Coachella Valley with a passion for Soccer. I started my soccer journey at the age of three years old, and the desire to improve my ball skills grew every single day. I have played with a diverse background of players that have helped me grow on the field and in life. My aspirations in life are to be able to help others by teaching them the sport of Soccer, stay committed, and above all having fun. I've been coaching since 2017 with a BU9 team in a local league. I coached BU18 travel team in 2018. In 2019 I was coaching the first ever UPSL team in the desert. I just finished my third season coaching a UPSL Mens team.

Playing Career

I've been in cleats since the age of 3 years old. By the age of 8 years old I was already playing two years up for a club team. At the age of 10 not only was I still playing two years up, but I was also training with a U18 Pachuca affiliated team. By the age of 14 I was playing center mid for the U18 Pachuca Affiliated team. I went to finish that year with Rampage FC and had to travel to ventura from Palm Desert three times a week. A team top ranked in the nation at the time. I ended up playing with Arsenal FC in the premier division the following season ranked number two at the time. I finished the following five years with Arsenal in the Academy Development Program. At the age of 20 years old I played for a San Diego Flash SC. A team well known in the San Diego County. A team Coached by Warren Barton a former New Castle United Legendary Defender of the English Premier League. Warren Barton at the time was Commentating the UEFA Champions league matches on national tv. An unbelievable experience knowing my coach was analysing thes worlds best matches and bringing the same intensity to our training sessions. San Diego Flash was full of professional soccer players from around the world and whom several played for their nation team. I ended up playing for a few other NPSL teams after San Diego Flash before coaching a UPSL team. Just this January I was invited back to a second tryout with the MASL Ontario Fury and I was invited a third time to stay for the remainder of the preseason.
